Lawrence Steiner Bio

I was born and raised on Chicago’s northwest side near Portage Park.  The values that guide me today are attributed primarily to my family; and secondly to my education at St. Pascal Grammar School and St. Patrick High School.

In 1983, I moved into my first home in Harwood Heights.  Thirty five years and two homes later, my wife and I still love to call this great village our home.  We enjoy the small town feel that has many big city benefits.  I have a daughter and three step-children that all enjoyed the benefits of a quality Union Ridge education.  As a grandfather of five, my hope is that this next generation will also enjoy a wonderful community like Harwood Heights.

After spending the first 35 years of my sales career in the food industry, I have recently changed arenas and am now an Advertising Sales Executive.  My degree in Business Administration has taken me on a path from Sales Representative to a District Sales Manager responsible for five direct reports covering fourteen states.  A promotion elevated me to Midwest Regional Sales Manager overseeing multi-million dollar annual budgets in the Natural Food Division.

In our community, I have served as Treasurer of the Union Ridge PTA, managed a Harwood Heights Youth Baseball team, was a catechist at St. Rosalie Church for over ten years, and volunteered as a driver for the Senior Assistance Center’s Home Delivered Meals program.  I am an active member of the Harwood Heights/Norridge Chamber of Commerce.

I believe that Harwood Heights’ strength lies in the willingness of residents to work together to achieve the common good for all of us.  Each person must bring forward their strengths so that our village can continue to grow.  My commitment to Harwood Heights lies in my strong family and spiritual values and I pledge to work on behalf of all Harwood Heights residents so that our community remains strong and vibrant well into the future.
