Emergency Communications Telecommunicator (ECT)
The Municipal Consolidated Dispatch (MCD) center located in Harwood Heights is currently seeking qualified persons for the position of full-time Emergency Communications Telecommunicator (ECT) and establish a pool of qualified candidates. MCD serves as the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for the Villages of Harwood Heights, Norridge, Schiller Park, and provides dispatching services for the Norwood Park Fire Protection District (three police departments and two fire agencies). MCD handles requests for police, fire, emergency medical assistance, and after-hours public works notifications. All personnel are cross-trained.
