Public Works Laborer - Full-time
The Village of Harwood Heights Public Works Department seeks a skilled, self-motivated individual with a positive work ethic to fill a full-time Laborer position.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: construction, operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of village water, sewer, street, and storm drainage facilities; maintenance of buildings, grounds, and open spaces; assisting with emergency repairs; and operating a variety of power construction, maintenance, and snow removal equipment.

Requires a high school degree, valid driver’s license, and commercial driver’s license along with two years of increasingly responsible public works operations or related experience.  Safety, flagging, traffic control, shoring, cement pipe, and confined space certifications a plus.

Starting annual salary is $54,800 to $56,000 DOQ with benefits.

Emergency Communications Telecommunicator (ECT) - FULL-TIME
The Municipal Consolidated Dispatch (MCD) center located in Harwood Heights is currently seeking qualified persons for the position of full-time Emergency Communications Telecommunicator (ECT).

MCD serves the Villages of Harwood Heights, Norridge, Schiller Park, and the Norwood Park Fire Protection District (three police departments and two fire agencies).  MCD dispatches police, fire, and medical assistance.  All personnel are cross-trained.

Current starting wage is $24.40 - $25.40 per hour (upon completion of training).  Bilingual Polish and Spanish speaking applicants are encouraged to apply.
