Independence Day traffic Enforcement Campaign Results

The Harwood Heights Police Department issued 63 seat belt citations during the Independence Day “Click It or Ticket” enforcement period. During the Independence Day Campaign, Harwood Heights officers worked an additional 76 hours of patrol taking the following enforcement actions:  conducted 100 traffic stops; cited 63 seat belt violators; cited 12 distracted drivers; and issued 15 other various traffic violation citations.  Our agency joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads, encourage seat belt use, and enforce speeding and other traffic laws. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including the “It’s Not a Game” media campaign.  Independence Day traffic Enforcement Campaign Results
