The Harwood Heights Village Board is happy to announce that the Village, in partnership with Republic Services, has available two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500 – each based on the volume of collected recyclable items. The scholarships will be awarded to Harwood Heights residents who are seniors in high school and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and have been accepted into a college or university. The applicant must also submit with their application a 500-word essay on “What Can Indvidual Families Do to Contribute Toward Green Initiatives, Capitalize on Energy Saving Efforts, and Increase Recycling?” You must submit your application and essay by 4:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025. The Scholarship Committee, appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees, will review all applications and essays.
