Harwood Heights & Republic Services Scholarship for 2 High School Seniors

The Harwood Heights Village Board is happy to announce that the Village, in partnership with Republic Services, has available two (2) scholarships in the amount of $500 – each based on the volume of collected recyclable items.  The scholarships will be awarded to Harwood Heights residents who are seniors in high school and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and have been accepted into a college or university.  The applicant must also submit with their application a 500-word essay on “What Can Indvidual Families Do to Contribute Toward Green Initiatives, Capitalize on Energy Saving Efforts, and Increase Recycling?”  You must submit your application and essay by 4:00 pm on Friday, June 6, 2025.   The Scholarship Committee, appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees, will review all applications and essays.  Click here for the scholarship letter, application, and all the details/requirements for this program.
