Harwood Heights & Republic Services Scholarship for 1 High School Senior

The Harwood Heights Village Board is happy to announce that the Village, in partnership with Republic Services, has available one (1) Scholarship in the amount of $500 based on the volume of collected recyclable items. The Scholarship will be awarded to a Harwood Heights resident who is a Senior in High School and maintains a minimum GPA of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and has been accepted into a College or University.  A Scholarship Committee has been appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees to review all applications and essays and will determine the recipient of the available scholarship funds.  The applicant must also submit with their application a 500 word essay on “What Can Individual Families do to Contribute Toward Green Initiatives, Capitalize on Energy Saving Efforts and Increase Recycling?”  The Scholarship Committee looks forward to the receipt of your application and essay by Friday, June 5, 2026 for scholarship consideration.  Click here for the scholarship letter, application, and all the details/requirements for this program.
