
Dianne Larson and her husband John have lived in the Village of Harwood Heights for 41 years. They have 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
Dianne became involved with the community in 1967 as a Girl Scout Leader, Den Mother for Cub Scouts, in the local PTA, Band Booster President for Union Ridge and Ridgewood High Schools. In 1977, Dianne received from the Illinois Congress of Parents and Teachers, a Honorary Life Membership.
Dianne has been involved in local government since 1977 as a member of the Harwood Heights Youth Commission and in 1980 became the Chairperson; a position she still holds today. Dianne is also member of the Cable Commission. Some of the other committees she worked on were:
- Swine Flu Project.
- Chairperson of the 30th and 40th Harwood Heights Anniversaries
- Co-chair of the Harwood Heights 50th Anniversary and "Taste of Harwood Heights" in 1997 and 1998
- Chairpersons for all of the Village picnics, including the year 2000
Dianne is also active in her church at St. Rosalie Parish as Lector, Minister of Care, Eucharistic Minister, Choir Member, Liturgy Committee and St. Rosalie's 40th Anniversary Committee.
Other community involvements were the Norridge/Harwood Heights Community Blood program sponsored by Michael Reese Hospital, raising funds for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society and a former Trustee of Jefferson Park Township School District #86.
