Water sprinkling regulations
You can water between the following hours: 6:00am to 10:00am and 6:00pm to 10:00pm
Hydrant flushing was late this year but we hope to have it completed by the time this news letter is published. We will put notification of the flushing on the sign at 7343 W. Lawrence.
Orange boil order tags will be hung on your door if the need to issue a boil order is necessary. It takes a minimum of 24Hrs. to get the results back from the lavatory. As soon as the results are back we will hang a blue tag on the door to tell you the boil order has been removed. We notify the Front Office (708-867-7200) and the Police (708-867-4353) incase you can not reach the Water Department (708-867-7206).
The last day for street sweeping in 2006 will be Thursday, November 30, 2006. With the building of the new Public Works Garage we will be able to clean streets if the weather warms up in the winter time, but we will not ticket for street sweeping until April of 2007. Remember that is unlawful to sweep or blow any material including yard waste into the street.
Please remember to observe the snow parking signs and move your car on the designated days so you are not ticketed. The Public Works Department tries to clean the streets back to the curb so when the snow melts the water can get to the drains. We apologies in advance for any snow that comes back on you sidewalk or driveway, but we need to plow the streets back to the curb. Plowing, shoveling or blowing snow into the street is against the law. On garbage day, please keep your garbage cans on the parkway or driveway if the garbage pick up is in the front of your house, so the street sweeper or snow plows do not hit them.
If you have observed trip hazards in the sidewalk due to cracks or root damage, please contact Village Hall. Village staff will evaluate the damage. Report sidewalk trip hazards to Village Hall (708) 867-7200.
Remote Water Meters Available!
If allowing meter readers to access your home is inconvenient or disruptive, a remote read meter may be a good solution. Public Works personnel can install a meter which can be read from outside the home. Contact Village Hall to arrange for the installation of a new meter (708) 867-7200
